The first ever Claire Whaley Foundation Bass Tournament on Clarks Hill will be held out of Lake Springs instead of Wildwood Park, according to tournament organizer Trad Whaley.

Early entries for the Special Olympics North Shelby School Bass Tournament on Lake Norman have been off so far from previous years but tournament director Ricky Peace is hoping for a surge in applications before the weekend and for a good entry at the ramp Saturday morning.

“We've got 24 teams qualified for the Camp Mack's Open One Man Trail Classic this weekend and they will be fishing for about $7,500,” said Bob Eddy, owner of Camp Mack's River Resort on the Kissimmee River just two miles north of Lake Kissimmee.

After a layoff from fishing major tournament series for a few years Kent Ware was hoping to make a little noise when he returned to the Southeast Division EverStart Series this year. He did that and more, finishing the season as the Southeast Division's EverStart Strike King Angler of the Year.

All Hadley Coan and Donnie McElvoy have to do to get a free ride for all the tournaments on the 2013 schedule of the Xtreme Bass Series Guntersville Division is show up and fish the Division Championship Friday and Saturday on Lake Guntersville.

Paybacks in the inaugural year of the Carolinas Bass Challenge have been outstanding and the total cash prize awarded in the CBC Championship on Kerr Reservoir on Oct. 27 could well exceed $80,000, according to tournament director Brett Collins.

Following a highly successful Oakley Big Bass Tour event on Lake Guntersville, the tour moves to Douglas Lake in Tennessee this weekend with a good flow of pre-tournament entries coming in, according to tournament director Mark Jones.
