There is nothing like the pleasant company of an anxious young angler! Some come from miles away, from all over these United States, to fish Alabama's largest man made impoundment, Guntersville Lake. Some are just good ol' Alabama boys!

A COLD DAY OF FISHING (AND CATCHING) ON ALABAMA'S LOGAN MARTIN LAKE!

Teaser image:

We began on a very cold morning in the upper 20's on Alabama's Logan Martin Lake, meeting at Lakeside landing boat launch. It was about 29 degrees and the parking lot was empty when I met my client. This angler we will just call Lee, was just wanting to catch some bass and learn more about the lake during winter.

THIRTY BASS (ON ONE LURE TYPE), FOR TWO HAPPY ANGLERS ON SMITH LAKE

Since the new year began, all throughout the months of January and February, I have been on the go. I can thank the cooperative weather and the mild winter we have experienced seen statewide recently. Also I want to thank the people that gave guided fishing trip gift certificates for their anglers that just love to fish, for occasions like Birthdays, Christmas and Valentines Day! Boy, its good to get to fish year round in Alabama in 2012!

A BIRTHDAY SURPRISE FISHING TRIP ON ALABAMA'S LAY LAKE

Teaser image:

Since the Birmingham Boat Show ended Sunday, January 22 I have been on the go. We have fished for smallmouth bass (two 5 pounders!) on the Tennessee River System Lake's Pickwick lake and Wilson lake. I also targeted (and we caught) some big striped bass (some 10-25 pounds!) fishing with residents of Smith Lake and fishing with some trophy striped bass hunters on Alabama's Lake Martin, with only a few stripes weighing in the 5-10 pound class...but a lot of fun!

After sitting out a few days at the www.birminghamboatshow.com It was time to go fishing and it was a day I'll remember. Not only to be remembered by me, but a day to be remembered by all, especially after you read this Lay lake report that took place on Tuesday, January 24 of 2012.

It was a day to remember. Not only by me, but a day to be remembered by all on Saturday, January 7 of 2012. Airport Marine's Fall / Winter Buddy Trail Championship. For a second or two, I envisioned that I was actually witnessing an Alabama Guntersville Lake weigh in! BUT NOT WITH THOSE BIG SPOTTED BASS!

SPOTTED BASS AND LARGEMOUTH BASS STILL FEEDING IN SHALLOW 50 DEGREE WATER ON LOGAN MARTIN LAKE

We could have fished earlier in the week...and froze! So, a postponed guided fishing trip to Logan Martin lake (until Friday, December 30) showed good results, for the last guided trip of 2010 with a largemouth bass close to five pounds and a spotted bass 4 pounds!

FISHING ALABAMA'S JORDAN LAKE ON A VERY COLD MORNING...BUT A NICE SUNNY DAY!

Recently I have visited lakes located all throughout north to south Alabama. My travels have taken me to Alabama's massive Guntersville Lake and Pickwick Lake, both located on the Tennessee River System in north Alabama. Lake Eufaula on the Chattahoocee River System on the Alabama Georgia state line and nearby close to the town of Alexander city, located on the Tallapoosa River System, Alabama's Lake Martin.
