The big fish was caught on the jig. Andy’s 5 fish weighing 19.35 pounds won first place, big fish pot and first place option for a total of $900.

Phillip Anderson of Saluda, SC finished in second place was fishing the lower part of the lake and caught his fish on spinnerbaits and bladed jigs in shallow water. Phillip’s 5 fish weighing 16.84 pounds won $479 for second place and the second place option pot.

Roger Farr of Lexington, SC finished in fourth place with 5 fish weighing 14.32 pounds and took home $108.

The day was a cloudy morning and a mostly sunny afternoon with a W wind at 5 to 10mph for most of the day. We started at 32 degrees and were at 50 degrees for the 3pm weigh-in. Water temps were in the mid to mid 50’s. The lake was completely muddy and almost at full pool.

A tough day for most with only 4 five fish limits and 10 anglers did not bring fish to the scales. The anglers who managed a limit all finished in the money. Fish were active if you could find them. Other productive lures were square bill crankbaits and soft plastics.
