Anglers @ Usc Bass Open–Lake Wylie

Over 80 boats showed up to fish the First Annual Anglers @ USC Bass Open on Lake Wylie March 16, and the teams were met by brutal winds that blew all day. Mike Stephens and Brian New of the Lake Wylie area took first place, bringing a 5-fish limit to the weigh-in that tipped the scales at 18.25 lbs. the two won $2025. Stephens said the fishing was brutal, but that they toughed it out, catching most of their fish in shallow water while throwing everything from crankbaits to spinnerbaits.

Grady Oliver and Mike Jennings finished in 2nd place and took home $1012 with 5 fish weighing 18.22 lbs, Larry Lehew and Trey Lehew teamed up for 3rd place, bagging a limit that weighed 17.5 lbs and netting $675.

Zack Davis and Hampton Anderson won Big Fish honors with a 6.92-pounder winning $876 and beating out Alan James and Robert Fowler’s 2nd place Big Fish of 5.17 lbs worth $584.
