The BOATS UNLIMITED NC TEAM TOURNAMENT BASS TRAIL came to an end today with 63 qualified teams competing for the top prize of $10,000 and the title of ‘Champions’!After the dust had settled Todd Massey & Brandon Gray, of Chapel Hill & Bullock, walked to their truck with 1st place(28.75 lbs), 1st place Big Fish (7.27 lbs.) & 1st place TWT for a total of $12,198 ~ two 1st Place plaques and smiles on their faces! Also, being signed up with Triton Boats Gold program, Massey should be getting a check from Triton Boats for $7,000 bringing their total winning to over $19,000 !!

2nd Place went to the team of Dan Glosson & Phillip Eakes of Rougemont & Bahama with 24.66 pounds. they also won 2nd place TWT and took home a total of $1,760.

The 2013 Points Champions were Scott Smith & Tony Woodard of Apex & Four Oaks. They received 2 plaques, 2 JB Custom Rods ($400) and $700 in sponsor money for their efforts and support of the trail.

221 bass were weighed in for a total of 641 pounds. All the fish looked healthy and most all were released alive. Fish are now in their summer pattern for the most part and were caught in 8 to 17′ of water off points and creek channel sides. Most were caught with c-rigs, flutter jigs and crankbaits.

Water temps were in the 80’s and we had light winds, mostly cloudy skies and air temps from high 60’s to low 80’s for the day.

Following the weighin, Ridgecrest Baptist Church Outdoor Ministries treated all the anglers with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks and Marc Francis delivered a short message from God to our anglers and spectators. Then awards were given out. Counting the sponsored $10,000 for 1st place, the total sponsored door prizes and gifts given amounted to over $20,740!!! That’s why Piedmont Bass Classics is the hottest bass fishing trail in the Triangle of North Carolina!
