First place, David Griswold of Woodruff, SC, was fishing the middle part of the lake and caught his fish on docks with jerkbaits and flipping soft plastics.  David’s 5 fish weighing 17.67 pounds with a kicker fish of 5.29 pounds won first place and first place option for a total of $637.

Don Kneece of Saluda, SC was second with 5 fish weighing 13.68 pounds fishing the upper part of the lake. He caught his fish on jerkbaits and top water. Don caught all his fish early from schooling fish. His big fish (tournament big fish) weighing 5.64 pounds was caught on the jerkbait. For second place, second place in the option pot and big fish Don won $478.

Jerry Allen of Waterloo, SC finished in third place with 5 fish weighing 12.04 pounds. Jerry took home $101 for third place.

Only 9 anglers out of the 19 fishing weighed in fish today. Anglers reported catching a lot of short fish and fishing docks seemed to be the pattern fished by many.

Our day started out raining with passing thunderstorms. The rain kept coming and going until about 10:30am. From that point it was cloudy to mostly cloudy for the remainder of the day. Wind was out of the SW at 10 to 15mph. We started at 66 degrees and were at 84 degrees for the 3pm weigh-in. Water temps were in the mid 70’s. The lake was clear but stained in the creeks and almost at full pool.

2 – Don Kneece, Saluda, SC – 5 fish 13.68 lbs. BF 5.64 lbs. 198 pts.

3 – Jerry Allen, Waterloo, SC – 5 fish 12.04 lbs. 197 pts.

4 – Daniel Howell, Star, SC – 5 fish 10.28 lbs. 196 pts.

5 – Jay Treon, Greenwood, SC – 5 fish 17.10 lbs. 195 pts.

6 – Matt Mollohan, Lexington, SC – 5 fish 8.90 lbs. 194 pts.

7 – Stanley Harkins, Fletcher, NC – 2 fish 3.96 lbs. 193 pts.

8 – Cody Conner, Saluda, SC – 2 fish 3.70 lbs. 192 pts.

9 – Ed Matthews, Columbia, SC – 1 fish 3.37 lbs. 191 pts.

10 anglers did not weigh in fish – 50 pts.
