Howell Tops Walker In First-Ever B.a.s.s. Brawl

Randy Howell caught one bass that weighed 0.39 pounds. It was all he needed to beat David Walker in the first-ever football-themed B.A.S.S. Brawl on the Tennessee River near Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN.

The socring rules award 7 points for first bass caught, 7 points for biggest bass, and 3 points every bass caught. So in a ‘defensive struggle’ the Classic Champ bested his buddy by a score of 17-0.

Howell represented the University of Alabama and Walker represented the Tennessee Volunteers – the two schools play each other in gridiron action this Saturday.

The anglers fished for 2 hours, the first out of Walker’s boat wherein Howell was a co-angler, and the 2nd from Howell’s boat at which time he ran the trolling motor and chose fishing locations (within the fairly limited boundaries of the ‘playing field’).

The action was steamed live on Bassmaster.com. Pretty cool concept!
