Looking Forward To Hammer Fest As Elites Take To T-Bend!

We’ve had an eventful season so far on the 2016 Bassmaster Elite Series.

Now we turn our attention to what should be a down-South hammer fest on Toledo Bend.  108 Elite Series pros will spread out over the 185,000 acre monster that straddles a good portion of the Texas/Louisiana border.

There’s abundant grass and herds of post-spawn bass that have holed-up along its edges. They are said to be in water as deep as 32 feet but the magic zone should be 8-to-10. Topwater bites can produce those big fish that will put a guy in contention but most believe that bite will die soon after sunrise. Swimbaits and big old Texas-rigged worms should play a huge role this week.

Toledo Bend was ranked by Bassmaster Magazine as the Number 1 fishery in America this year. But there’s a fly in the ointment this week:  high, muddy water due to recent flooding in the region.

Some locals say the bass have had ample time to adjust to these conditions and the pros should be able to catch them just fine.

Some folks who should know said they would set the over/under for 4-day winning weight at 90 pounds.
