Piedmont Bass Classics Spring Trail #1-1
Listings for everything you will need on your next trip to enjoy our LAKE.
I know many of you are trying to set your tournament schedules for 2011. I'm still waiting to hear from at least 2 big sponsors that have shown interest in our tournament trails for next year. Here is the schedule. The championship money or prizes are not set in stone yet. Make yourself a copy and then you will have something to go by as you decide which trails or dates you may want to fish next year. As you can see, there are 4 adult trails scheduled for 2011. Each trail has at least 7 qualifying dates and 1 championship. All are open tournaments. To qualify for a particular championship, your team must fish at least 5 of the events in that particular trail with the same partner. You may sub the other 2 events if you wish. Subs may not be members of another team in that particular trail. Your team partners must be decided before or at the 1st event in each trail. Each of the 2 spring trails will also have a points race as an option. Use of a sub in 2 of the events will not affect any points awarded. Like I said before, these are still all 'open events' and teams do not have to participate in the points races or qualifying if they just want to fish a particular event. This past year we awarded bonus money or prizes from sponsors at most every event. Next year, any sponsor money or prizes we get will be held and awarded to at least the 2 spring trail championship winners and points champions in each. All event team entry fees will still be $100 per team with 80% payback (1 place for every 5 teams), a $20 (new fee) optional big fish pot paying 2 places & a $50 optional Tournament Within a Tournament (TWT) paying 2 places. The big fish & TWT are 100% paybacks (65/35). The plan at this time, is to have both the spring trails (1 & 2) championship 1st place prizes to be $5,000 each. Points winners will receive $1,000 in each. Other prizes in these 2 trails will be determined by other sponsor support we receive. Qualifying events will be regular paybacks. At this time, Trail #1 will be sponsored (I hope) by a major company and the prizes will be in cash. Trail #2 will be sponsored by local sponsors (like this past year) and the prizes will be both cash and/or merchandise. As in the past, there will be no membership fees or late fees. The economy is bad enough! All tournaments thru Sept. 1st will be on Saturdays except for March 27th, which will be on a Sunday. The Fall Trail will be on Sundays. Crappie fishermen will always be welcome to fish on the tournament dates above from Feb. 26 until Apr. 30. After that, no more crappie events planned for the year. I'll have the details for the crappie events later. Details on the Adult/Youth 'Futures Trail' will also be coming soon. This past year, Piedmont Bass Classics paid back approximately $75,000. This total included the 80% payback in entry fees, big fish & TWT awards, sponsor prizes and year end cumulative weight awards! That ain't bad for a trail that just can't get a boat to give away! Please consider PBC as you make your tournament plans for 2011. I really hope 2011 will be a bigger year for us and I hope you can fish with us again. Please tell all your fishing buddies about our trail too and invite them to join us. I'm trying to keep our events affordable, so the more we have fishing, the better the paybacks will be. If you know anyone that would like to help sponsor our trail, let me know and I'll get in touch with them or they can call me. Thanks and call me if you have any questions.
